ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION
CRITERIA FOR APPROVAL OF NEW INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS
The Governing Board recognizes the need to add instructional programs to the curriculum, from time to time, to maximize educational opportunities for all students of the Muroc Joint United School District. The Board welcomes suggestions from District staff and interested community members.
In considering the merits of each proposal, the Board will review the following criteria:
-
Alignment with District's Mission and Goals
To what extent does the proposal further the attainment of the District's Mission and Goals?
-
Student Focus
To what extent does the proposal expand opportunities for student learning?
-
Benefits to Students
To what extent does the proposal offer students additional benefits not available otherwise?
-
Equity Issues
If implemented, in what ways would the proposal provide equitable, though not necessarily equal, services for all District students?
-
Impact on Current Programs
If implemented, in what ways (positive and negative) would the proposal impact current District schools and programs?
-
Fiscal Impact
If implemented, what fiscal impact (positive and negative) would the proposal have upon the District the first year? By the third year? By the fifth year?
-
Contractual Impact
If implemented, what impact (positive and negative) would this proposal have on existing Districts contracts?
-
Federal/State Requirements
If implemented, what impact (positive and negative) would this proposal have on District compliance with current federal/state requirements?
These criteria shall be applied uniformly to all proposals having a fiscal impact of at least fifty thousand dollars ($50,000).
Upon request, the Board will revisit a proposal that had been denied three (3) or more years earlier, provided that the circumstances that caused the denial have materially changed.
