REGIONAL OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAM (ROP)

California State Law (Education Code Section 51004) requires that every student leaving school will have had the educational opportunity to become prepared for the world of work, and that every adult will have had the educational opportunity to acquire the marketable skills necessary to become suitably employed. The Muroc Joint Unified School District Governing Board supports this requirement with the belief that each student should be prepared to compete for and hold a job any time he/she leaves the educational system, and should have access to re-enter the system at any time he/she desires. This philosophy demands that local schools provide additional guidance services, broader instructional skills and maximum utilization of school and community vocational training facilities. The Superintendent or designee will establish procedures and regulations to implement and monitor the Regional Occupational Program.
